EACH DECEMBER for the past decade, my daughters Cookie and Elizabeth and I have spent a few days together baking Christmas cookies for our friends. Massive amounts of cookies - rolled cookies, refrigerator cookies, bar cookies, pressed cookies, drop cookies, you name it. All told, about 150 dozen cookies.
We started out spending a weekend baking in Cookie's kitchen but soon decided to move the operation to my kitchen, where there are no dogs, cats or children underfoot.
And we added another day - the weekend just wasn't enough.
