PINKISH-COLORED squid jet-propelled itself across the bottom of a temporary aquarium aboard the Miss Virginia Beach, as participants in a Virginia Marine Science Museum Ocean Collections boat trip stared in amazement at this live critter brought up from the sea bottom.
They also had the opportunity to examine the teeth and powerful underslung jaw of a tiny young barracuda and to think about what a menace the fish could be when it grew up.
