HAMPTON -- Western Branch knew it had to play flawless football if the Bruins were going to have a chance to upset Hampton.
The Bruins' first chance came on the opening kickoff. Hampton bobbled the ball, then it went into and out of a Western Branch player's hands. Hampton recovered.
Western Branch forced the Crabbers to punt in the ensuing series. The punt went just 19 yards, and the Bruins had the ball on the Hampton 29. But the Bruins moved the ball only 4 yards and turned it over on downs.
The Western Branch defense came up big and had the Crabbers facing third and 16. But quarterback Marques Hagans hit wide receiver ...
