ELIZABETH CITY -- Dozens of Northeastern High School seniors finished a grueling 12th-grade ritual last week with enough sweat and tears to raise the salinity in the drinking fountains.
They ended their semester-long senior projects with oral presentations, the final phase in a four-part ``culminating activity'' of their education to date.
``I was so happy,'' said Kate Williams, who researched school violence and built a peace pole that now stands in front of the school. ``I laugh again. I'm stress-free now.''
