SUFFOLK -- An elderly man who was exposed to carbon monoxide in his home recently survived without harm, thanks to his doctor who recognized his symptoms and to firefighters who found the source of the problem.
The incident should serve as a reminder to residents to check the carbon monoxide levels in their homes, said Lieutenant James T. Judkins Jr., fire spokesman.
The victim, who declined to be identified, called his doctor March 15, reporting that he had not felt well all weekend except for when he was away from home. The man's doctor diagnosed his symptoms as those resembling carbon monoxide poisoning, Judkins said. The doctor advised ...
