CHESAPEAKE -- James S. Goodwyn, 76, of the 700 block of Shell Road, died June 4, 1999, in Maryview Medical Center.
Mr. Goodwyn was born in Dinwiddie County, Va., and was a member of Noble Street Baptist Church, Portsmouth. He retired as a pipe fitter from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard after 44 years of service and was an Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Daphine Jacobs Goodwyn; three sons, J. Carnell Goodwyn and his wife, Letitia, Anton R. Goodwyn and his wife, Gina, all of Chesapeake, Tyrone S. Goodwyn of Washington, D.C.; four sisters, Doris Gatling, Barbara Dexter and Annette Williams, all of Portsmouth, and Gretchen Hughes of Hartford, Conn.; ...
