NAGS HEAD -- Tempers flared along the Outer Banks on Friday as vacationers tested the rules and the lifeguards, trying to enjoy the water on what was for many their last day of vacation.
Red ``no swimming'' flags flew for the seventh day in a row, frustrating tourists who have been warned of dangerous surf conditions all week.
Despite the warnings, swimmers went into the ocean and rescuers ran from call to call to pull them out.
