Opponents of an Environmental Protection Agency proposal for states to dramatically reduce their emissions of nitrogen oxides warned that following EPA's plan would cost electric utilities, industry and eventually consumers billions of dollars.
An Alexandria-based group known as the Center for Energy and Economic Development hosted a teleconference Tuesday with representatives of labor and a West Virginia state government official, anticipating an EPA ruling next month on nitrogen oxide limits.
