Virginia has many historic country houses that include the name ``castle'' in their titles, but none of them is in the running with Bacon's Castle in nearby Surry County.
Now the property of the Association for the Preservation of Virginia Antiquities after three centuries of private ownership, the tradition-steeped old house is justly famous for its historical, architectural and ghostly distinctions.
