CHESAPEAKE -- Radiation treatment helped David Rolan beat throat cancer three years ago, but the procedure ravaged his jaw, rotting his gums and flaking the exposed bone.
Now, Rolan expects his jaw to mend enough for him to be treated with dentures because of a medical therapy becoming more common in local hospitals and resembles the treatment given to deep-sea divers who develop the bends.
