VIRGINIA BEACH -- Abacus Communications has a unique Web site. A person can go there and do something, rather than just stare at flashing graphics and rolling text.
The people using Abacus's Web site are the company's customers, name-brand paging and wireless phone companies. A PrimeCo salesperson, for instance, can go to the Web site and within seconds activate a new customer's phone, deactivate one or change the customer's address.
The customer is out the door - and in PrimeCo's database - within minutes.
