RICHMOND -- Bob Vila, the flannel-shirted, tool-hawking, celebrity home repairman, is tackling a new job: the restoration of the Executive Mansion, the historic home where Gov. Jim Gilmore and his family reside.
Vila will be documenting the renovations to the classic Federalist mansion, the oldest continuously occupied governor's residence. The renovation, which will be televised nationally, is being overseen by Norfolk architect Paul Hanbury.
The $5 million restoration will be featured in a 13-part series for the syndicated television program ``Bob Vila's Home Again.'' The half-hour shows will air next fall as ...
