PORTSMOUTH -- Many people try to avoid math like long-lost cousins at Christmas. But Christopher Chapman says he has found a way to make complex numbers simple.
With 55 flash cards, the mathematician says, he can pack multiplication, division and square roots into one school year. He can introduce students to algebra, too.
``I think that anybody can use them (flash cards) with just a simple amount of sense,'' he said. ``It's not complicated; it's just a different method.''
