SUFFOLK -- The City Council unanimously approved the appointment of the Rev. Isaac E. Williams to the Redevelopment and Housing Authority board Wednesday night, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of John Faircloth.
Williams' appointment, recommended by Councilman J. Samuel Carter, fills one of the two positions left open after recent resignations of two board veterans, Jack Vaughan and Faircloth. Both resigned in December.
Faircloth and Vaughan were frequent critics of the agency's administration during board meetings, and expressed frustration over some of the agency's policies.
