Herman has seen a lot of diva Dollys descend that famous staircase in red headdress - Carol Channing, Ethel Merman, Mary Martin, Betty Grable, Pearl Bailey, Phyllis Diller, Yvonne DeCarlo, Barbra Streisand and a few hundred others.
Still he thrills at the idea that his Dolly is back where she belongs - on stage. After all, he was the first to ever say ``Hello!'' to her, writing both the lyrics and the music for the venerable musical.
