AHOSKIE -- If he can become a Thankless Child, Ben Poulos will be thankful. Now, he is thankful being Huck Finn, rafting down the Mississippi.
Before he can take that long trip, he has to take another - a 120-mile round trip between his home in Rocky Mount to The Gallery Theatre in Ahoskie.
There, Poulos becomes the famed Mark Twain character in ``Big River,'' the hand-clapping, foot-stomping musical version of ``The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.''
Roger Miller added the songs to that adventure, and it became a giant-sized Broadway success, winning several Tony awards.
