Charter boats trolling along shoals a fairly short distance off Cape Point did well Friday, catching fair numbers of 28- to 36-inch striped bass. The best action was during the middle of the day.
A few keeper rock were taken in the Oregon Inlet area by boaters fishing around the pilings supporting the Herbert Bonner Bridge.
