SUFFOLK -- There are no coffeehouses in downtown Suffolk. They're all in Norfolk, Chesapeake, Virginia Beach and Portsmouth.
Unique men's and women's clothing stores are here, but they are few.
And don't even look for Fortune 500 companies.
Suffolk residents say they want the same amenities and types of businesses that their neighbors enjoy.
``It really hurts me to take my tax money to another city,'' said Bob Brooks, a Suffolk resident. ``I don't see what anybody is doing downtown. You're compelled to take your family to Chesapeake.''
