WHEN FAMED West Coast performance artist Rachel Rosenthal makes her area debut Saturday night, the audience may at first be distracted by her shaved head.
Before they can get lost in her innovative staging of notions of time, before they can ponder the 71-year-old artist's place in the pantheon of avant-garde performance artists, viewers may feel a need to understand why Rosenthal is bald.
``Actually, I address that in `Timepiece.' It's the first time I really talk about it in my work,'' Rosenthal said during a recent phone interview from her home in Los Angeles.
