NO DOG FOOD at the Great Dane Deli & Wrong Dog Cafe - but you'll get some doggone great chow.
Don't be fooled by the amusing name of this Northern Italian eatery in Kill Devil Hills. This is seriously delicious food, with wake-the-palate flavors in every mouthful. Best yet, kids will love the playful canine memorabilia and enjoy the food as much as adults bored with the standard fare.
``I wanted to get away from tomato sauce,'' said general manager and chef Michael DeStefano. ``Italian food has become almost a caricature of itself. I really wanted to produce a different slant on an ethnic food group.''
