NORFOLK -- The guided missile cruisers Cape St. George and Anzio will end their four-month deployment to the Baltic Sea this week, bringing to a close a generation-old exercise that its participants say gets better with age.
``We've been doing this for 25 years now, and every year, at the end of it, they say it was the best ever,'' said Rear Adm. James B. Hinkle, commander of Cruiser/Destroyer Group Eight in Norfolk.
``Well, we're saying the same thing. We've done more for the first time in this exercise than they've ever done in the past.''
