If for only four weeks, a bunch of youths are pounding the playground's hard courts with something other than a basketball.
Since mid-July, children throughout the city have participated in ``Play Tennis America,'' a program designed to introduce 6-to-17-year-olds to tennis. The program is divided into a pair of two-week sessions at Booker T. Washington Elementary and then Bennett's Creek Park.
``It gets me out of doing stuff and junk that I don't want to play,'' William Whitworth, 10, said.
