NAGS HEAD -- American Indians associate them with activity. The Chinese use them as symbols of instabliity and weakness. On the Outer Banks, they're adored because they eat mosquitoes.
And recently, dragonflies have been swarming.
``It seems like you always see a lot of dragonflies this time of year around here,'' said Barbara Blonder, a biologist who has worked at The Nature Conservancy's Nags Head Woods Preserve for six years. ``But lately, there seem to be many more than usual.''
