NORFOLK -- The strategy employed by the Johnstown Chiefs on Friday at Scope was simple. Punch, shove and verbally harass the Hampton Roads Admirals' top scorers to knock them off their game.
It worked with Rod Taylor, the Admirals' all-time leading scorer, who was felled by what the Admirals, and referee Chris Cozzan, deemed a cheap shot in the second period. Taylor skated only a few shifts the rest of the game and is listed as questionable for two more games with weekend with a bruised back.
It did not work with Victor Gervais, who took numerous punches and verbal jousts and responded with two goals, including ...
