Dawn Poff's ears are constantly ringing, but that's no problem.
It's because about 30 Salvation Army kettle workers - those people clanging bells at area shopping centers - fall under Poff's leadership. She's the coordinator for such collectors in Virginia Beach, Norfolk and Chesapeake.
A religious woman who loves her daughters and misses her Navy husband more often than she wants, Poff considers Salvation Army duty about as rewarding as work can be.
