R.B. Cutler may not be a famous chef, but his experience in the kitchen includes laying out a spread in several European countries.
He was drafted into the Army in 1942, then served as a cook for the 385th Anti-Aircraft Unit. During much of World War II, he served in Europe.
``What we felt proud of was making pancakes,'' he said.
According to his wife, Hazel, Cutler can still whip up a tasty batch of flap jacks.
He's fairly confident about his expertise at making chili, too.
Cutler remembers that he and his co-workers made every effort to doctor up the barely edible Army-issue powdered eggs.
