A LEGENDARY Virginia voice steps out of the shadows into the spotlight at the Wells Theater this week.
But it will be Jessica Welch, not Patsy Cline, who will step into the blinding glare. There will be no shadows. The murky mysteries of a 20th century woman who made it on her own will be illuminated.
In the course of the run of ``Always . . . Patsy Cline,'' produced by Virginia Stage Company at the Wells Theatre in Norfolk, Welch hopes that audiences will forget about any differences between herself and Cline. In fact, she's working hard to remove the differences altogether.
