NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. -- The South Carolina Stingrays took a 1-0 lead in their quarterfinal playoff series with the Hampton Roads Admirals on Friday night with a 5-4 victory in sudden-death overtime at the North Charleston Coliseum.
Defenseman Brad Dexter, scoreless in South Carolina's series opener against Charlotte, weaved his way through the Admirals' defense, deked Alexei Krivchenkov out of the way and put a low, accurate shot into the far corner of the Hampton Roads net, right where goalie Marc Seliger couldn't reach it.
While the Stingrays stayed on the ice to celebrate, the Admirals dashed off the ice ...
