Funeral services for James A. Joyce, 79, of Arlington Heights, formerly of the South Shore area of Chicago, will begin with prayers at 9 a.m. Tuesday, at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 185 E. Northwest Highway, Palatine, and continue with Mass at 9:30 a.m., at Our Lady of the Wayside Church. Born June 7, 1921, he died Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, at home. Interment will be in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine. Though he was born in Chicago, Mr. Joyce was a native of Churchfield, Tourmaready, County Mayo, Ireland.
