AMERICAN CARRIERS ANNOUNCES EARNINGS
OVERLAND PARK, Kan., July 22 /PRNewswire/ -- American Carriers Inc. (ACI) (NASDAQ: ACIX) reported a second quarter 1988 net loss of $11,692,000 or $1.52 per share compared to a 1987 second quarter net loss of $934,000 or 15 cents per share. For the first six months of 1988, the net loss totaled $36,035,000 or $4.70 per share compared to first half 1987 net loss of $2,669,000 or 44 cents per share. The 1988 net losses have only minimal income tax benefit, whereas the 1987 net losses carried a full income tax benefit.
