KILL DEVIL HILLS -- Residents of Kill Devil Hills will pay 1.5 cents less in town property taxes if a proposed $6.6 million budget wins final approval by the Board of Commissioners next month.
Kill Devil Hills property owners now pay 44 cents per $100 in property value in town taxes, plus another 40 cents levied by the county. Under the new budget, the tax rate would be 42.5 cents per $100 in town taxes.
That means the owner of a $100,000 home would pay $15 less per year.
