Cape Cod Healthcare maintains three models of shared service.
There are several ways that healthcare enterprises can employ models of shared service to make their operations run more efficiently.
Some choose to establish an integrated delivery system (IDS) where a healthcare information system (HCIS) is shared throughout the facilities in the enterprise, along with databases and technical staff. Other large organizations may serve as a vendor/reseller of the HCIS technology to smaller entities located nearby, offering them access to technology they may not otherwise be able to afford.
