Tom Driscoll loves to tinker, and the proof is in his family room.
The Des Plaines resident has filled nearly half the floor of the room with a Christmas display of four trains, buildings, mountains, tunnels and related scenery.
"I pretty much do it (the setup) myself," he said Tuesday. "Everybody likes to look at the finished product," but not necessarily tackle the assembly.
For the past six years, Driscoll has built up his Christmas display. He starts putting it together around Thanksgiving each year, working on it for two or three weeks around his job as an engineer with the NBC broadcasting network in Chicago.
