When the electoral votes for the 2000 presidential election arrived at the National Archives in Washington, D.C. on Dec. 18, Aurora University senior Mark Scholes was there.
"It was definitely a prime time to be there," Scholes said, recalling his four-week internship with the National Archives and Records Administration.
But the 21-year-old Batavia man missed most of the hoopla surrounding the hotly disputed election. Instead he took a seat in a National Archives research room and continued his assignment to probe the "Annals of Congress" and study three major Congressional players in the War ...
