Sternberg and Grigorenko, both psychologists, take a practical look at what it means to be labeled as learning disabled in U.S. school systems. They do not waste time with definitions and political controversies. Instead, they discuss how learning disabilities are assessed and treated. The random nature of such assessments is of particular concern to the authors, who contend that, in a sense, everyone is learning disabled in one area or another.
