The Red Telephone is ringing again, but the tune has changed quite a bit.
Like many predecessors in the Boston rock scene, the quartet signed with a major label (Warner Bros.) in the mid-'90s and promptly spiraled into the first circle of hell known as Major Label Limbo. You know the tune: release a somewhat compromised debut, get little financial, marketing or moral support, watch your label allies quit/get fired and then fight to get out of your contract/get dropped.
The difference in this story, however, is the Red Telephone emerged from their corporate entanglements with no plans to throw in the towel. For drummer Mark Britton, guitarist Sean Toohey, ...
