Could "Friends" star Matthew Perry ("The Whole Nine Yards") succeed where Robert Redford, Paul Newman and Burt Reynolds failed? Those names were bandied about in the early '70s as candidates to play James Bond, but Perry, said to be in talks to take over the role when Pierce Brosnan gives it up, might finally be the first American 007.
