MY PUBLIC AFFAIRS OFFICE - PAO - has a problem. Or maybe it's my whole department. On second thought, maybe it's the whole Navy. Yes, I'm sure it is.
The Navy has a problem. The problem is TLA.
``What,'' you might ask, ``is a TLA? Temporary lodging allowance? Tactical logistics analysis? Telephone ledger assessment?''
Nope, none of the above. (I confess, I made up the last two.)
Our problem is three-letter abbreviations - TLA.
