For awhile it seemed that the only certainties regarding the Adriaen's Landing project were that it was near water and named after the Dutch mariner Adriaen Block, the first European to explore the Connecticut River Valley region.
Although the specifics of one of the largest urban renewal projects in Connecticut's history have changed more often than the tides, the massive undertaking -- to be financed with combination of state-issued bonds and private funds -- is starting to take shape on the Hartford waterfront.
