Forget the January sales and use your spare cash to top up your pension. That was the advice for self-employed people and other personal pension plan holders from a local pensions expert this week.
Next April will see the abolition of the taxpayers' rights to claim tax relief against their income tax for pension contributions which could have been made in previous years.
