Dec. 12--Two major Dallas law firms announced significant expansions Monday.
Jenkens & Gilchrist said it would increase its size by 25 percent with the purchase of New York City's Parker Chapin.
The combined firm will employ more than 600 lawyers in Dallas, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington, Houston, Austin and San Antonio.
Before this acquisition, Jenkens had 475 lawyers. Financial terms of the acquisition, expected to be completed Jan. 1, weren't disclosed.
"In the last two or three years the firm has grown tremendously," Stephanie Morris, spokeswoman for Dallas-based Jenkens & Gilchrist, said Monday.
