This study is intended to offer a brief assessment of the impact of Europeanisation on the national party systems of the member states of the European Union (EU). This implies quite serious limitations in the focus of the analysis. In the first place, the primary concern is with the impact of Europeanisation on the party systems of the member states, as opposed to its effects on the individual parties that constitute those systems.
