About 5,000 foreigners, including 500 Japanese, are expected to take part in the walkathon, which is being jointly organized by the Sogwipo city government and the privately-run Korea Athletic Promotion Association (KAPA) to lure tourists to the subtropical island.
There will only be a 10 km event on the first day, whereas they can choose one from 10 km, 20 km and 30 km events on the second day.
Those who finish any of the courses will receive certificates that are being jointly issued by the Federation of Popular Sports, based in Germany, and KAPA, a local walking and trekking ...
