BP Put On Defensive Over West Coast Prices; Senator Calls for Renewed ANS Export Ban
Demand for reimposing the ban on export of Alaska North Slope (ANS) crude oil has resurfaced after a leading Northwestern newspaper, citing court records and reports of experts, published a story over the weekend that BP had purposely pushed up oil prices in the West Coast by exporting oil to Asia for less than what BP would have received from US refiners.
