The amount of milk produced by a lactating sow is affected by many factors, which include feed intake and level of amino acid concentration and level of energy in the lactation diet being consumed. Considerable research has been conducted to determine the amino acid requirements and ratios needed in lactation diets for optimum milk production of the lactating sow.
