BURLINGAME, CAL. -- Origen Therapeutics Inc. announced Dec. 20 it has obtained option rights to non-exclusively license nuclear transfer technology from Geron Corp. for use in avian species.
The license to this technology would give Origen the freedom to employ advances in nuclear transfer in combination with its proprietary avian embryonic stem cell technology, the announcement said. Origen's aim is to develop transgenic chickens that produce human protein therapeutics, including human polyclonal antibodies, in their eggs, according to the announcement.
