For an avid outdoorsman and cross-country skier there is nothing quite like it.
With the moon nearly full and the ripe snow blanketing the trails, nearly 300 McHenry County residents turned out in full force Friday and Saturday for the first in a series of seven Candlelight Skis, sponsored by the McHenry County Conservation District.
"When the snow as it good as this, it can't be beat. It's like a little piece of heaven," said Judy Hensel of Woodstock.
