ANIMAL MEDICAL CENTER ISSUES HEAT STROKE ALERT FOR PETS

NEW YORK, Aug. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- The Animal Medical Center has issued an emergency warning to pet owners in the metropolitan area to be alert for signs of heat stroke in their pets which is a life- threatening condition requiring immediate veterinary care.

Dr. Philip Fox, director of Clinics at The Animal Medical Center, reported more than double at the usual case load for this time of year for heat stroke emergencies in dogs with some resultant deaths. "Once affected, it doesn't take much for an animal to go over the brink," warned Dr. Fox.
