Jan. 12--If finding a FedEx drop box has ever been a problem, a $7.2 billion deal between the Memphis, Tenn.-based shipper and the U.S. Postal Service announced Wednesday may cure it once and for all.
Next month, FedEx will start placing boxes in front of about 10,000 post offices nationwide, a process expected to take 18 months. FedEx also signed a seven-year pact to fly express, priority and first-class mail with its fleet of more than 650 aircraft, an arrangement that will take effect in late August.
