Ron Dayne is failing to live up to his nicknames.
At Wisconsin he won a Heisman and became known, predictably but not inaccurately, as "The Great Dayne."
Then the New York Giants drafted him, creating a marriage seemingly made in Canton - the power back with the ugly body playing for the power team with the ugly offense.
Dayne alternated with scatback Tiki Barber in the Giants backfield, and they were quickly dubbed "Thunder & Lightning." Just as quickly, the skies cleared, leaving Barber as the Giants' star back and Dayne as his uninspiring sub.
